April Fools

4.1.12
'I'm going to be a big sister!"
Best trick I ever played on my parents!
They totally fell for it.
We went over to my parents house for dinner but before we walked in we put this sign around Molly's neck.  We had her walk in first and all they saw was a paper around her neck.  They finally pinned her down and read it.  They were so excited for a second then they lifted the flap.  It was funny!  We got a good laugh out of it.

Pillow Hog

2.26.2012
This is Molly's ususal spot when we go to bed...On Ryan's pillow.  She gives Ryan only a little corner of HIS pillow.  When he gets up in the middle of the night, she will get up and lay down in his spot and he has to move her to lay back down.  For being only 8 pounds, she really is a bed hog.

Molly's drugged

2.12.2012
We have been noticing or rather smelling Molly's bad breath.  Most dogs have some what of a stinky breath but hers was starting to smell like a bad bowel movement so we looked at her teeth.  They were not in the best shape. Some plaque is normal but her was more like a plague of plaque attacked her mouth.  So we decided to get her teeth cleaned.  We went to the vet and it turned out that she needed some teeth extracted too, 7 to be exact.  This isn't her first rodeo, she had her teeth cleaned before and had 7 teeth extracted then too.  I stared to worry I would have to blend her food up so she could gum it down.  But I found out that she only needs 14 teeth chew and dogs have about 60 to start with, give or take 10.
When we picked her up from the vet the next day, she was so funny and loopy.  She couldn't walk straight and just laid around, with her tongue slightly hanging out.  They suggested to keep and eye on her for a few days so I took her to work with me the next day.

She was feeling a little better that day.  She would lay by my desk, but also liked to wonder around and visit the guys in their offices.  She would welcome the people that came into my office with a friendly bark. She's so kind.
She didn't last at work with me all day.  I took her home during lunch since she seemed to be feeling better.

Her little tongue is hanging out
After all of this, her breath is much better and even more gap toothed but she is still so cute!

Waiting

This is where Molly waits for Ryan to come home.  She won't even come and sit by me on the couch. I guess she wants to be the first one to see him come home.

Molly in a box

While we were moving, Ryan got the birght idea to put Molly in a box.

She didn't seem to mind to much once Ryan started feeding her treats.  She was content.
Then he took Molly out of the box but put her bone in the box.  She had a fun time trying to get it out.
Watch here to see if she got it out! Watch her tail wag as she fights to get it out.

Lesson Learned...

I have cut Molly's hair a few times during the winter to save money.  It's not her favorite thing to sit on my bathroom counter and get her hair but I bribe her with treats so she sits for a little bit.  If Ryan is home, he gets to be my special little helper and hold her still for me.
In the past I feel comfortable saying that I did some what of  a decent job.  Now I shouldn't open a dog grooming business anytime soon, but I thought I was pretty good at trimming her.  But once it stayed hot for a week or so I decided to treat her to a day at the doggy spa.  Who am I kidding, she hates going there, but she looks so cute when she is groomed.  Well it's been a few months since that happened.
*after the dog groomer
On Sunday I got the idea to trim her up.  The main thing I wanted to trim was around her face.  But I thought she might like to have her hair a little shorter since it's hot.  That's where I went wrong...
*Notice the shaved bare chest area, by her back leg, all the skin showing.
She looks like she has some sort of disease.  Believe me the pictures do her justice.  I don't have clippers that glide over her and give her a good cut so I grab hair pull it up from her and trim that.  I did it once right by her leg and realized then that it was a bad idea but I had to keep going to try to make it look even or at least I thought I had to keep going.
We went to dinner at my parents house they noticed but didn't want to say anything, they were trying to be polite.  We had a good laugh.
Later that night we meet up with Ryan's brother David and his family.  They asked if Molly had something wrong with her coat or a disease.  We started laughing and once we told them what happened we died laughing.
So if you see Molly and she looks a little...different...you know what happened.  Don't make her feel more self conscious.  :)  I'm going to stick to doing human hair and steer clear of cutting dog hair.  Lesson Learned

Lazy Much

I have been taking long walks around my neighborhood and I always take Molly.  We usually go later in the day so it isn't as hot but last Saturday we went a little later in the morning.  About 10 minutes into the walk, Molly gave me the look.  You know, THE look.  She slowed her pace down, looked up at me with tired eyes, and she was panting hard.  I thought, she's only 7 pounds, I can carry her her for the next block or so then she can walk again. Well after about 3 blocks I put her down and she just stood there.  She wouldn't budge when I pulled on the leash so I continued to carry her.  Ya, she totally knows how to get what she wants.

She is enjoying her "walk"

I finally put her down a block away from our house and about 45 minutes of carrying her.  I dropped her leash and she just took herself home. She knew where she was going.  She would look back to see if I was still there but kept heading home.

You would think she carried me the whole walk the way she was panting.

I'm not falling for it next time.

Snuggle Buddies

This is Molly...
She's been in my life for the last 8 years. Isn't she a cutie?
This is Ryan.
He's been in my life for the last 2 years.  He's a cutie too!
We have been a family for the last year.  Ryan and Molly haven't always gotten along.  When we were dating, lets just say it was more of a hate relationship than love.  But I have been able to see Ryan's love for Molly blossom in the last year.

Now they are best friends.  He would take her everywhere if he could.  He loves to bug her (all the time), let her hang her head out of window while he's driving (my dad has saw a man in a white truck driving down the road with this little white dog hanging out of the window and it turned out to be Ryan), and even Home Depot trips. But he doesn't take her inside all the time. He told me he doesn't have a purse for her to sit on in the cart.  I told him I can take care of that and get him a murse (man purse). He said NO, she's fine in the car.
There was this one time he was letting her hang out of the window while he was in our neighborhood. He went over a bump and Molly fell out.  He said she was fine, hopped right back into the truck and continued to hang her head out.  What a trooper.
Now they are SNUGGLE BUDDIES!!  They love to snuggle and take naps together.
What a cute little pair they are.

Ryan said he would kill me if I posted these pictures, I'm willing to take the risk.
I don't know why he thinks Molly is a pillow.  I mean she's soft, but come on.
PS doesn't he look hot in his pink shirt....Love you!!!!
